Alice Through the Looking Glass

Alice Through the Looking Glass (9 of 10 stars)

Official poster

This movie is a great cup of tea! It's very creative, a wonder to look at, and pretty suspenseful. This sequel gives you way more backstory on the characters and how everything is how it is in the first film and now. I also love the costumes in this movie! They're so colorful and really show the characters' personalities.
Alice ( Mia Wasikowska) has definitely changed since the first movie; she's more fun and isn't afraid of Underland/Wonderland anymore. The Mad Hatter ( Johnny Depp) is still as mad as can be but it takes an unexpected turn in this film. If you know what it's about, you'll understand. The Red Queen ( Helena Bonham Carter) is an amazing actress and her character is still a great villain and can get carried away with her own plans. The White Queen ( Anne Hathaway) is still very elegant and kind, but she's not as funny in this one as in the first movie, with her odd ways and hands always in the air. Time ( Sacha Baron Cohen) is pretty funny at times and has kind of good intentions, but plays them out wrong sometimes, causing Alice to go off and do what she thinks is best. The rest of the characters ( the Cheshire Cat, the Tweedles, Bayard, etc.) are still their good old selves with their fun and creative personalities, but aren't in it as much.
I love how they showed all the Wonderland characters as children, they were all so cute and still had their personalities! They even showed how the Red Queen's head got so big, and that's a pretty good story. I feel really bad for the Mad Hatter at times, like when they show the past of him and his father, because he doesn't know how much his dad really cares about him.
Danny Elfman, the composer for the music, did an amazing job ( as always) and even used some of the music from the first movie. The song "Just Like Fire" by P!nk is really good, but it doesn't really have an "Alice in Wonderland" mood to it, but I don't care that much. A lot of stuff happened in this film that I didn't expect, but I kind of liked that. I don't care what everyone else has said about this movie, it being bad and all that, because it's not! Just go and see it for yourself and you decide what you think about it. I'm really happy that Disney made this sequel, and it left me mad with joy. Go through the looking glass and see it!

Zootopia

        Zootopia ( 9.5 of 10 stars)

This was unlike anything I've seen be-fur! It was hilarious, heartwarming, and pretty surprising. There were some parts in this that I didn't expect at all. The animation in this is simple but really into detail. This really reflects our modern world really good and isn't too childish with it. One of the characters even says, " You don't just sing a little song and all your dreams come true."
These characters are definitely the best part of this movie. Judy is very determined in solving her case (missing mammals) and never gives up, I love those types of characters! Nick is extremely sly (no joke it's almost insane) but softens up to Judy and has a super depressing past. Finnick, the little fennec fox, may seem adorable and cute, but is actually a total gangster. Flash was super funny with his insanely slow pace and a certain scene (no spoilers) proves that he can be fast. Chief Bogo can be rude most of the movie, but grows fond of Judy later on. Clawhauser was so funny with his obsession over Gazelle and his sweet personality. Bellwether was very fond of Judy since she stands up for the prey of Zootopia and there's much more to her than it seems. Gazelle (Shakira) has an amazing voice and I love how she stands up to the predators of Zootopia even though she is prey.
The song Try Everything by Shakira is now one of my new favorite songs, listen to it! This movie has so many twists and turns in my opinion, that I can't keep track! Disney just keeps getting better and better! This is definitely one of my favorite Disney movies in the past few years. It has some really funny jokes in it and modern ones, too. Go see it be-fur it sells out!

The Good Dinosaur

The Good Dinosaur ( 9.5 of 10 stars)

This movie was more than good; it was amazing! This is one of my new favorite Disney Pixar movies. It was emotional, adorable, and beautifully animated. I loved how the backgrounds looked so realistic and the characters were animated so awesome! Yes, this movie made me cry like every other Pixar movie.
I really like how the characters are so simple with awesome personalities. Arlo is so cute and his problems with the chicken things are pretty hilarious. He develops a lot throughout the movie, but I won't give any spoilers. Spot is probably my favorite character besides Arlo because he's so protective of Arlo and will do anything for him. He also looks like my little brother, so that makes me like him a bit more. What I think is cool is how the dinosaurs act more like humans and the humans act more like animals. Ramsey and Nash are really funny and act like how a brother and sister really do act: fighting almost all the time. Butch is serious at first, but softens up when he spends more time with Arlo. The T-rexes act and are animated like cowboys, how they have thick country accents and they run like they're riding on horses. Thunderclap is a little creepy to me with all of his "The storm provides" thing, his freaky facial features, and how he always wants to eat Arlo and Spot. I think Arlo's family, his dad, mom, brother, and sister, are pretty cool because they have their own little trait that I like about them, even though they're kind of mean to him at first.
I love the scenes with the fireflies, when they run through the grass, making them glow. Spot and Arlo's relationship is so awesome because they are always there for each other. By the way, I did not expect the ending here. I was almost freaking out in the theater because I didn't know what would happen! Pixar has definitely done it again with this amazing movie, making it far more than good in my mind.

Love Actually

        Love Actually ( 9.5 of 10 stars)

One of the best romance movies I've ever seen = THIS!!!!!!!! What makes it even better is that it's a CHRISTMAS movie! I'm not a huge romance fan, but this got me into it. It's emotional, funny, romantic,( of course) and has some of the most awesome actors in it. I love this movie because, and this is one out of a hundred, all of the love stories are tied together perfectly and are all related in a cool way. I've only seen the TV version, but I still think it's amazing.
Now, this movie has like 20 characters, so I might not talk about them all, but I'll say my favorites and the ones that really stand out. Jamie ( Colin Firth) is such a sweet guy and is a writer, which I want to be, too, and I love how he learned a new language just to go to the girl he loved ( which she did too) to go and ask her to come back and marry him. The Prime Minister ( Hugh Grant) was so unsure about himself and Natalie ( Martine McCutcheon), who is his secretary, being together even though he's the Prime Minister. Seeing him dance around his house and getting caught was one of the funniest parts of the movie. Karen ( Emma Thompson) is so nice and beautiful, but you feel so bad for her when you see her husband ( Alan Rickman) get an expensive necklace for this ugly lady that he works with and when she thought he got it for her. Sam ( Thomas Brodie-Sangster) was and still is the cutest part of the movie with his desperate love for this girl at school who's going back to America, him and Daniel ( Liam Neeson) posing the trust scene from Titanic, and how he plays the drums at a concert for his school. Billy Mack ( Bill Nighy) was just way too weird for my taste but was funny every now and then.
Mark ( Andrew Lincoln) and his love for his friend's wife is really cute and I love it when he can't talk to her and shows her poster boards with what he wants to say, that's so sweet! There are so many other amazing characters, but it would take forever to talk about them all.
I love the part when Sam is running through the airport chasing down his crush. Some of this movie is really sad, for example, Sarah's ( Laura Linney) brother has mental problems and always calls her, so she feels like she can't not answer no matter what she's doing. Either way, this is an amazing movie and was definitely worth watching. I don't just like it, I love it, actually.;-)

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner ( 9 of 10 stars)

This is a movie worth running for! It is really different from the book, but it is still really good. It's thrilling, action-packed, and full of amazing, complex characters. Plus, all the boys in it are super cute. The CGI in it was so realistic from the maze walls to the grievers.
Now, the characters; these are some of the coolest characters because there's so much to them that you need to know more about them. Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) is curious, wanting to know everything about why he was put into the maze, surprisingly fast, and pretty cute. Newt (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) is by far my favorite character because of his kindness, hotness, and his protective style, and we fangirls can't forget his tragic backstory. Minho (Ki Hong Lee) is extremely sassy and that kind of guy you want to fight at your side. Teresa (Kaya Scodelario) is the only girl in the maze, and a tough one at that, very pretty, and definitely has feelings for Thomas. Gally (Will Poulter) is the one who wants to be the boss of everybody, isn't a man of change, and his eyebrows are one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Chuck (Blake Cooper) is super sweet with a cute personality and is always at Thomas' side.
I really don't care that it's different from the book because you can tell they still used the base of the original and shows you what the maze, the characters, and the scenes look like. The acting in this is awesome in here too, with so much emotions put into it. But here's a tip: if you want to see this, you should read the book first so you're not confused about the story or anything. This is definitely one a-MAZE-ing movie!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 ( 9 of 10 stars)

This movie was amazing! It was action-packed, emotional, and dramatic. Katniss was pretty strong to be able to push through all this and just plain boss. Peeta was so beaten up and tortured but at least he got to see Katniss one more time before the Capital... if you've seen the movie, you know. Effie is still particular about Katniss's appearances but is still super sweet. President Snow was such a butthole because of all the crap he did to everyone! Haymitch was still like Katniss's mentor from the games and was still as sarcastic as ever. Gale is kind of a jerk because he thinks he wants to be the big hero. President Coin is a pretty good president and will do just fine if the rebels bring down the Capital. Prim is super nice and a really good nurse. I like how Boggs isn't extreeaves you hangingmely ordering to Katniss and just tries to calm her down. Cressida and Pollux are really cool and pretty good filmmakers if you ask me.
I cried like three times during this movie. The end was just so emotional! I can't wait till November! I loved the Hanging Tree and Jennifer is an amazing singer. The songs on the album are so awesome. The detail that they put on Peeta's face after he was tortured was mind-blowing. The end just leaves you hanging like the dead man in that song. This movie will make you want to watch the Mockingjay fly over and over again.

Big Hero 6

    Big Hero 6 ( 9.5 of 10 stars)

This movie was amazing! It was hilarious, emotional, and action-packed. Hiro was pretty dad-gum smart and so sweet but can have a bit of a temper when it comes to his brother. Tadashi was also super smart and too nice to leave. Baymax is just the cutest and funniest robot in the universe and also the sweetest! Gogo was just plain awesome and one of my favorite tomboys. Fred was super funny and pretty cool with theme songs. Honey Lemon was really cute and nice but also super awesome with her concoctions. Wasabi was kind of over protective but really nice. The Villain, which who I will not spoil for you, is such a butt-head! Aunt Cass was really funny and always tries to make everybody happy.
I loved everybody's high tech superpowers! Yeah, as an emotional movie, I kind of choked up during it. It was the funniest when Baymax did his fist bump. "Ba-da-la-la-la!" This is definitely one of my favorites. If you go see it, you won't regret it. Woman up and go see it!
